For my final Effective Public Communication assignment, it is an integrated project with English. Hence, this assignment will be grade for both Effective Public Communication and English subject. My class is supposed to form groups consisting of 7-8 members. From this group, we need to decide on a business that we would want to proceed with, since it is one of the requirement for this assignment. My group decided to go with a bar business because it is unique and rare, and no one under my lecturers has ever did a bar business as part of this research assignment before. We're supposed to interview and research two bars that are from 2 different states. These two bars should be at least 10-15 years old. In the end, we chose a bar in Penang called 'Hong Kong Bar', and also a bar in Kuala Lumpur called 'Luna Bar'.

My group members consist of:-

  • Hirendran Siva

  • Jonathan Lim

  • Teo Vi Vien

  • Teo Kuo Chien

  • Chong Zhao Lun

  • Choo Zi Zhao

  • Nick Ng

  • and myself :)

Based on the informations we gathered from both businesses, we would have to come up with a report. The attachment below is the report that we did together.

The attachment below are the interviews we did with both bars.

After the report and video are submitted to the lecturer, we need to present a powerpoint presentation slide as presentation skills will be graded for this assignment. But, my group mates and I didn't want the slides to look boring nor wordy. Hence, we came up with a slide filled with moving gifs whilst going with a minimalist theme. To no avail, our lecturers liked it and found it interesting.

All in all, I enjoyed this assignment the most throughout this whole semester 2 due to the fact that this assignment allowed me to travel to new places, whilst opening my eyes to new things. I also learned that the success of a business does not always end up successful until the end. What a way to end my EPC subject with this fun assignment. Thank you Miss Lojana and Miss Cassandra for your guidance!
