Project 2 - oral presentation

 

My second project that was assigned by my lecturer, Miss Thivilojana was to make a video oral presentation that is not longer than 20 minutes (4-5 minutes per person). This needs to be done in a group of 4 to 5 people even though it is graded invidually. Each group needs to choose a nature inspired building. After that's done, they will need to film themselves presenting an oral presentation talking about the building they chose according to the subtopics they choose to talk about. These are the subtopics for each group:-

• Biomimicry

• Design principles and architect's background

• Material's used

After a few minutes of researching on natured inspired buildings, my group and I agreed on talking about the world's tallest building - Burf Khalifa, that stands proudly in Dubai, United Arab Emirates(UAE). For me, I chose 'design principles and architect's background' as my subtopic that I want to talk about.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

(Reflection)

 

This assignment made me gain something. No, I definitely did not gain any weight, but I did gain confidence. I have quite a shy personality but because this is an assignment, I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried to present like how an A+ student would. After filming myself, I was really surprised that I did not stutter in between my oral presentation. Even though I don't mind talking in front of the camera already, that doesn't mean I have really good oral presentation skills. I have a lot more to correct especially the volume of my voice. Nontheless, I had fun filming and researching about Burj Khalifa because it does help me in a way since I am furthering my studies in architecture.
